I’m pleased to announce that I’ve been accepted onto the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama’s Advance Theatre Practice MA Course.
I auditioned a few weeks ago (using a bit of puppetry I had developed for Buttons) and was accepted less than a week after.
I’m really excited, mostly because I’ve missed studying and I’m excited about studying puppetry, I’ve also missed the collaborative atmosphere of a university and a good handful of successful puppeteers have all gone through this MA.
But I’ve also considered lecturing in puppetry. I’ve really enjoyed teaching children about puppetry and making but I’m really keen to teach at an undergraduate level. With puppetry going through quite a renaissance in the past few years, I think it’s important for young theatre-makers to learn about the potential of puppetry, even if they decide later not to use it
So in October I will be gracing the many rehearsal rooms and puppetry studios at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama
